Our Mission
To enhance the quality of life and promote the independence of older adults, their families and care providers.

History
Gerontology Network was established in 1979 to improve the lives of older adults in West
Michigan, while preparing for the increasing aging population.
Since its inception, Gerontology Network has been continuously providing a variety of services
and programs to meet the ever-changing needs of adults as they age at home.
Gerontology Network has grown to provide various services including:
Adult Day Services provided by CareTree Adult Day Health Services offer a safe, caring
environment where participants can socialize, participate in therapeutic activities, and
receive support services and health assessments.

  • Personal Care Program provides bathing and other grooming assistance for those who
    cannot perform these tasks themselves.
  • Outreach and Assistance answers questions and identifies services to meet the needs of
    each individual, their families and caregivers in Kent County.
  • Counseling and Case Management Services help develop a personalized plan to enhance
    the mental and physical health of each individual client.
  • Outpatient Therapy, Substance Abuse Programs designed to assist individuals struggling
    with substance use and co-occurring dependencies.
  • Home Safety Services from Life Connections offer monitored personal response systems
    and automated medication dispensers to increase security and peace of mind at home.
  • Education and Training Services conduct classes for older adults, families, caregivers,
    professionals and community members – helping to address the challenges and
    opportunities that come with aging.
  • Older Adult Volunteer Programs provide opportunities for older adults to mentor and
    support individuals of all ages.
